Initially introduced in 2020, dynamic backgrounds were exclusively available to owners of Xbox Series X and Series S. The collection began with the 'Waves' background but has since expanded with periodic additions. These additions include Xbox-themed and game-themed backgrounds such as the Fallout 25th Anniversary design, as well as abstract options that can be customized using the 'My Color' feature. While not a major feature, many users appreciate the dynamic backgrounds for enlivening their Xbox home screens. Now, Xbox has unveiled a new set of backgrounds to cater to these users.
The latest update brings a total of five new dynamic backgrounds to Xbox's Personalization section, themed around popular games like Cyberpunk 2077, EA Sports FC 24, EA Sports PGA Tour, F1 23, and Super Mega Baseball 4. Notably, the Cyberpunk 2077 dynamic background has garnered high praise from users, with its depiction of the game's protagonist, V, against the backdrop of Night City. The moving elements within this backdrop include flying vehicles and flickering billboards. The remaining backgrounds, themed around games under the EA Sports umbrella, showcase dynamic elements such as flashing cameras, sparking tires, exploding fireworks, and flying birds. While mostly static, these backgrounds incorporate subtle elements that bring them to life. With this update, the total selection of dynamic backgrounds on Xbox has reached 48.
