Two Games Exiting Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Today

Highlights

  • Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will lose access to Hitman: World of Assassination and F1 2021 today.
  • EA Play, included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, offers trial access to new EA games and a range of EA-published titles.
  • February has been an exciting month for Xbox Game Pass with additions such as Resident Evil 2 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and more games are set to follow soon.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is scheduled to remove both Hitman: World of Assassination and F1 2021 after January 31. The Ultimate tier of Xbox Game Pass provides subscribers with access to all features of Xbox Game Pass Core, basic Game Pass, and PC Game Pass. One of the main advantages of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is its inclusion of EA Play and the associated game library.

Although EA Play does not offer day one games, it frequently provides free trials of new EA games. It also boasts an impressive selection of EA-published titles, ranging from relatively recent sports games to older classics like the original Dead Space trilogy, for example. Due to expiring licenses and other circumstances, games are occasionally removed from the EA Play lineup, which is the case with F1 2021.

The removal of F1 2021 from EA Play is the reason behind the loss of access for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to these two games today. Hitman: World of Assassination, the other game being removed, is part of basic Game Pass. As always, interested Game Pass subscribers have the opportunity to purchase the games at a 20% discount to retain them permanently. However, once the games are removed from Game Pass, they revert to their regular prices.

Xbox Game Pass Games Leaving Today

  • F1 2021
  • Hitman: World of Assassination

It is always disheartening to bid farewell to Xbox Game Pass games, but this month has otherwise been exceptional for the service. Numerous high-profile games were added to Xbox Game Pass in the past month, including the remake of Resident Evil 2 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla, not to mention the unexpected success Palworld has achieved. Palworld quickly ascended to the top of the service's most-played charts shortly after its early access launch.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers have more to anticipate in the near future. While Microsoft has not yet revealed all its plans for the February 2024 additions to Xbox Game Pass, it has confirmed that Persona 3 Reload will be available on Game Pass from February 2, with Anuchard following on February 6 and PlateUp on February 15. Some games will undoubtedly be removed from Xbox Game Pass in February as well, although they have not been announced yet.

Microsoft is expected to unveil its plans for Xbox Game Pass in February 2024 soon. The most probable scenario is that the full details will be announced on Tuesday, February 6, but an announcement could occur earlier. Xbox Game Pass subscribers should stay attentive for further updates.
