Xbox is planning significant enhancements for its Wireless Controllers through an upcoming update. While the design of the new Xbox controller remains similar to its predecessor, it features a refreshed shell and a new Share button at the center.

Exclusive to Alpha Skip-Ahead testers, a new firmware update is now available for Xbox Wireless Controllers. This update aims to refine thumbstick calibration and prevent wired headset disconnections during gameplay. Eligible users will receive a prompt to update their controllers upon system startup or can manually update via the Xbox Accessories App.

The controller improvements are the highlight of this update, which also includes fixes for dynamic background errors, Home Screen navigation glitches, and more. With these enhancements, Xbox users can expect a smoother overall gaming experience.

While some issues remain unaddressed in this update, ongoing investigations are tackling audio glitches, content sharing problems, OneGuide issues, and network connectivity delays.

Controllers

The latest Xbox Wireless Controller firmware update brings various fixes, including enhancements to thumbstick calibration and prevention of wired headset disconnections.

If an update is required for your controller, you will receive a notification upon connection to your console. Alternatively, you can manually update via the Xbox Accessories App if you miss the prompt.
