Airbnb recently unveiled its latest 'Icons' experiences at the 2024 Summer Release event, featuring unique stays such as the Home Alone house for one night only, promising fans an extraordinary journey into beloved movies. In a nod to the triumph of X-Men '97, Airbnb has transformed a mansion in New Castle, New York, into a whimsical replica of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, allowing die-hard X-Men fans to enjoy an unforgettable retreat.
The X-Mansion adventure on Airbnb, hosted by X-Men '97 star Jubilee, can accommodate up to eight guests in four bedrooms with five beds and two bathrooms. The experience kicks off with Jubilee guiding guests through a student orientation video, welcoming them to the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning as mutant trainees. Visitors can partake in various activities like practicing in the Danger Room with professional stunt coordinators, attending team briefings in the War Room, trying out a functional Cerebro helmet, creating potions in Beast's lab, recreating Wolverine's famous meme photo, and receiving a diploma in Professor X's office. Each themed bedroom, from Jubilee's '90s-inspired room to Wolverine's Disney+ room, Beast's lab, and a recruits' dorm room, adds to the authenticity.
To capture the essence of the X-Mansion, Airbnb collaborated with Microsoft to transform vintage operating systems into functional boomboxes. Every prop and room in the house was meticulously hand-painted for hours to bring the 2D animated world of X-Men '97 to life, ensuring a genuine and immersive environment for guests. Despite initial skepticism due to its unique 2D-3D blend, the latest Airbnb listing is ready to welcome X-Men enthusiasts in June, offering a range of exclusive X-Men experiences onsite.
The X-Mansion joins Airbnb's roster of iconic stays like Barbie’s Malibu DreamHouse and Shrek’s Swamp. The new 'Icons' category in Airbnb's Summer Release includes outstanding experiences across film, art, music, sports, and more. Among the initial 11 revealed, the X-Mansion shines alongside beloved spots like Pixar's Up House, Inside Out 2's Headquarters, and Prince's Purple Rain residence. Stay tuned for more surprises biweekly, such as a night at the Ferrari Museum, access to Kevin Hart’s exclusive Coramino Live Lounge, or a cozy living room session with Doja Cat.
Each Airbnb Icon stay is typically available for a limited time. The X-Mansion is currently open for reservations until May 14, offering a one-night stay in June for $97 per person. Moreover, starting from May 9, guests can book a two-hour 'X-Men '97' experience.
