CD Projekt Red has expanded its development team for The Witcher 4, codenamed Polaris, surpassing the expected size and moving into production. With 403 developers on board, the mainline Witcher game is progressing towards full production in the latter part of the year.

The Witcher 4 signifies the start of a new saga within the Witcher universe, forming part of a planned trilogy of AAA RPGs. This installment will utilize Unreal Engine 5, departing from the RED Engine of previous games. While still in pre-production, the game is at least three years from release, with the studio stressing the need for extra effort due to technological advancements and engine change. Until an official title is announced, it's referred to as The Witcher 4.

Additionally, CD Projekt RED disclosed that the Cyberpunk 2077 franchise, including the Phantom Liberty expansion, has generated $752 million. The team dedicated to maintaining the game has been reduced to 17 developers, reflecting the game's improved state. Despite challenges, CD Projekt reported its second-best revenue year in 2023, marking a consecutive year of growth.
