Vampire Survivors introduces update 1.9, now accessible across all platforms. The latest iteration brings fresh characters, weapons, and a bonus stage to the popular roguelike shooter.

Created by Luca 'Poncle' Galante, Vampire Survivors gained fame after its early access launch in December 2021. With 35 previous patches filled with free content, the game's newest update, 1.9, follows the December 2023 release of update 1.8.

In January, Poncle teased the space-themed update, Space 54, for Vampire Survivors 1.9. This free update rolled out in late February for PC, console, and mobile users. Space 54 adds achievements, with Steam receiving eight and other platforms seven, due to a past discrepancy.

The update expands the character roster with Space Dude and Bat Robbert. Space Dude, a swift combatant, wields the Phas3r energy weapon, upgradable to Photonstorm. His special ability ignores weapon Cooldowns, ensuring continuous action. On the other hand, Bat Robbert, a sturdier character, starts with the Pako Battiliar, evolving into Mazo Familiar. His special skill provides health recovery and a max HP boost when low on health.

In addition to new characters, update 1.9 introduces the Space 54 bonus stage, offering unique enemies and rewards. Players finding the visuals overwhelming can use the Disable Moving Background option for a more comfortable experience. Vampire Survivors hints at a year filled with updates, including a cryptic Chaos Roadmap from Poncle.
