Palworld has just released update 0.2.2.0, now available for download on all supported platforms. This update focuses on fixing a significant bug related to combat mechanics, alongside addressing several other minor issues within the game.

The game's developers, Pocketpair, have been consistently rolling out updates, with this being the ninth revision since the game's launch in mid-January 2024. The 0.2.2.0 update swiftly follows the recent release of update 0.2.1.0 for the Xbox and Microsoft Store versions.

Major Bug Fix in Palworld Update

The highlight of this latest patch is the resolution of a critical bug affecting Pal attack damage scaling. Players were experiencing a halving of damage dealt by certain Pal attacks due to this issue. While the patch notes suggest a universal impact on all attacks, player feedback indicates that only ice damage was consistently affected. Other attack types were sporadically impacted, with the root cause remaining undisclosed.

The bug was introduced in the previous update, 0.2.0.6, which first rolled out on PC and later on Xbox consoles. Additionally, the patch addresses minor issues such as fixing the Nightmare Bloom and Nightmare Ray attacks, which were not functioning correctly, impacting their damage output towards the end of their animations.

Furthermore, adjustments have been made to Pal sleeping animations to reduce jittering, and players can now exit the character editing screen by pressing the Escape key. Although primarily beneficial for PC users, this fix also resolves the same issue for Xbox players utilizing a mouse and keyboard setup. The patch also includes unspecified fixes for minor bugs.

Contrary to the usual delay in Xbox updates compared to PC, both platforms received the 0.2.2.0 patch almost simultaneously. Xbox and Microsoft Store users got the update merely four hours after it was available for PC players. Looking ahead, Pocketpair has hinted at a major content update scheduled for summer 2024, promising a new island and PvP arena for players.
