The Outlast Trials is a cooperative horror game that has captured the attention of gamers with its spine-chilling gameplay. Originally introduced in Early Access in 2023, the game reached its full release in March 2024. The developers have laid out a comprehensive plan for the game, showcasing their commitment to both the game and its dedicated community.
All platforms received a significant update on April 16, featuring the Toxic Shock event, running until May 7. Players are tasked with surviving in a room filled with toxic gas while evading a menacing shock wand-wielding enemy. By collecting drugged rats and uncovering new evidence, players can earn rewards such as Toxic Tokens and unique cosmetics.
Aside from the Toxic Shock Event, players can look forward to two new MK-Challenges post-event. 'Tilt the Scales of Justice' requires players to load evidence of false crimes onto scales, while 'Sabotage the Factory' challenges them to shut down a factory using emergency breaks. These challenges will debut as part of the Weekly Program Recent Therapies.
The update also brings changes to unlocking Program X and Program Ultra, along with various quality of life updates such as enhanced rewards for high scores, fixes for solo players, and a revamped main menu. Players can expect gameplay tweaks like the ability to bypass door detectors by jumping backward, introducing new challenges and strategies.
