Building home bases and accepting missions to procure valuable resources and upgrades is an integral part of the gameplay, with these bases serving as the storage hub for Exocrafts.

Exocrafts, diverse planetary vehicles, provide a convenient alternative to real-time travel across planets, eliminating the need to expend valuable fuel and time using the Starship. Here's how to unlock and utilize these ground vehicles:

How to Unlock Exocrafts in No Man's Sky

To unlock Exocrafts, players need to acquire vehicle Geobay blueprints. These blueprints are essential for crafting resource equipment, buildings, and installing upgrades for various tools and vehicles, including the Exocrafts.

Players can obtain Exocraft blueprints at the Construction Research Station within the Space Anomaly by utilizing Salvaged Data. Additionally, certain blueprints may be rewarded through storyline quests or missions. There are six distinct types of Exocrafts available for players to own:

  • Roamer – The initial unlocked Exocraft, resembling a space dune buggy.
  • Nomad – A hovercraft designed for gliding across water.
  • Pilgrim – The sole two-wheeled Exocraft equipped with 16 inventory slots.
  • Colossus – The largest tank-shaped Exocraft equipped with a Mining Laser, ideal for resource gathering.
  • Minotaur – A massive mecha suit immune to planetary hazards and capable of underwater functionality.
  • Nautilon – The solitary submarine Exocraft for underwater exploration on all planets.

How to Use Exocrafts in No Man's Sky

Exocrafts can be summoned within 750u, similar to the Starship. Alternatively, players can construct an Exocraft Summoning Station to call forth any owned Exocraft to their location. Furthermore, players can store Exocrafts at their home bases by installing the corresponding Geobay. Once acquired, players can customize their Exocrafts, including editing paint jobs, decals, and more from the summoning station.

Exocrafts are powered by natural resources such as Carbon and Oxygen. Players can monitor fuel levels and types from the Exocraft menu. Each Exocraft boasts unique upgrades and pre-installed equipment, enhancing the exploration of planets and moons regardless of their climates.
