Universal Orlando Resort has revealed its highly-anticipated Epic Universe theme park, set to debut in 2025, promising a captivating journey through the worlds of Nintendo, Harry Potter, and beyond. The introduction of the Nintendo segment was initially announced in January 2020 but faced a postponement from its original 2023 launch due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The park will introduce the third Super Nintendo World, following the inauguration of the original location in Japan in 2021 and a subsequent branch at Universal Studios Hollywood in February. Like its Japanese counterpart, the Epic Universe rendition of Super Nintendo World will feature attractions inspired by Super Mario Bros and Mario Kart, along with a thrilling Donkey Kong-themed roller coaster named Mine Cart Madness.
Universal has confirmed that Epic Universe will encompass over 50 attractions, entertainment options, dining experiences, and shopping outlets spanning five connected sections. The primary hub, Celestial Park, will offer visitors the chance to explore verdant gardens and structures influenced by astronomy and mythology. Guests can also indulge in space-themed rides such as the dual-launch roller coaster, Starfall Racers, the Constellation Carousel, and the wet-play area, Astronomica.
Universal Epic Universe Will Let Guests Explore Super Mario, Harry Potter, And More
Following the exploration of Celestial Park, guests can venture into the other four realms of Universal Epic Universe, each inspired by renowned franchises. These include the aforementioned Super Nintendo World, where gaming enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the realms of Mario, Donkey Kong, and other beloved characters through the iconic green Warp Pipe. Subsequently, guests can delve into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic, where they can uncover the magic of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films.

The fourth realm, How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk, invites visitors to soar with dragons in a vibrant world inspired by the popular How to Train Your Dragon animated films. Lastly, Dark Universe, named after Universal's short-lived cinematic universe based on classic monster characters, presents daring guests with the eerie experiments of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein and a myriad of other haunting creatures in a realm of legends and enigma. When it opens in 2025, Universal Orlando Resort's new Epic Universe park will offer an array of attractions, including the Super Nintendo World experience.
