Valiant Hearts: Coming Home is finally making its way to Steam. The sequel to Valiant Hearts: The Great War has been available for more than a year, but PC players had to wait until now to experience it.
This war-themed puzzle adventure marked its one-year anniversary in late January. Initially, Valiant Hearts: Coming Home was only accessible to Netflix subscribers on Android and iOS devices. However, in early March 2024, Ubisoft expanded its availability to the Switch, the latest PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and PC, although exclusively through its own digital platform.
Valiant Hearts: Coming Home Lands on Steam and Epic Games Store
The decision to skip Steam during the initial release of Valiant Hearts: Coming Home was not unusual for Ubisoft titles. Surprisingly, the period of exclusivity on the Ubisoft Store for the PC version seems to be short-lived. This is evident from Ubisoft's recent launch of Steam and Epic Games Store pages for Valiant Hearts: Coming Home on April 20.
While the pricing details are not yet available on these new listings, Ubisoft typically maintains consistent pricing across all platforms. It is anticipated that both the Steam and Epic Games Store versions will be priced at $14.99, aligning with the Ubisoft Store price. The Epic Games Store has set a release date of May 24, hinting that the Steam version may also debut around the same time in late May.
Where to Purchase Valiant Hearts: Coming Home for PC
The Steam and Epic Games Store pages do not mention Valiant Hearts: The Collection, which includes both games in the series and was introduced alongside the Coming Home console releases in early March. The bundle is priced at $24.99 on the Ubisoft Store, offering a discount compared to individual purchases.
Ubisoft has been bypassing Steam for game launches since 2019, with games taking years to arrive on the platform afterward. However, the company resumed selective publishing on Steam in late 2022. The ten-week exclusivity period on the Ubisoft Store for Valiant Hearts: Coming Home appears relatively short in this context. Steam is also set to receive its first day-one Ubisoft game in five years on May 14 with the launch of The Rogue Prince of Persia in early access.
