Stardew Valley offers a slow and steady journey where players cultivate crops, forge friendships, and unlock the mysteries of Pelican Town. In this game, players inherit a run-down farm in Stardew Valley, setting the stage for a challenging yet fulfilling renovation project.

Restoring the farmhouse is a top priority for most players, starting off as a basic single-room structure. However, expanding and adding new rooms can be costly, requiring careful planning to make the most of your resources.

Updated on April 29, 2024, by Anastasia Maillot: Stardew Valley's 1.6 update introduces exciting house renovations, offering players the opportunity to enhance their in-game living space. From attic additions to expanded room options like a dining area, these new features cater to players looking to invest in their farmhouse decor. With these updates come increased renovation costs, requiring players to budget wisely for their farmhouse improvements.

Farmhouse Upgrade Locations

Upgrading the farmhouse is accessible right from the start of the game, with renovations available at the Carpenter's Shop owned by Robin and Demetrius. This shop is located in the Mountain area north of Pelican Town.

Robin, the town carpenter, operates her shop from 9 am to 5 pm on specific days. Consult her to explore the various upgrade and renovation options for your farmhouse.

Upgrading Your Farmhouse Effectively

In Stardew Valley, there are three progressive farm upgrades, each more expensive than the last. Additionally, players can opt for various renovations once their farmhouse is fully upgraded. Note that most renovations now come at a cost following the 1.6 update.

Robin requires three days to complete each basic house upgrade, during which players can still use their house normally. Renovations, on the other hand, are instantaneous and reversible at Robin's shop. Players can also relocate their farmhouse within their land and choose from a selection of paint colors for the building.
