The Paranormal Liberation Front, a notorious villain organization, emerged as a formidable force following Shigaraki's absorption of the Meta Liberation Army. Combining the League of Villains with remnants of the Meta Liberation Army, the Front aimed to overthrow the hero establishment once and for all. This union of two potent villain groups in My Hero Academia posed a significant threat, leading to the intense Paranormal Liberation War, a pivotal event in the series.

The Rise of The Paranormal Liberation Front

Shigaraki Takes Over as Leader of the Paranormal Liberation Front

Tomura Shigaraki assumed leadership of the Paranormal Liberation Front with fellow League of Villains members and Meta Liberation army stragglers after defeating Re-Destro. Notably, Gigantomachia pledged allegiance to Shigaraki. The Front, under Shigaraki's command, comprised Lieutenants like Re-Destro, League of Villains members, Warriors, Nomus, and Associates such as Hawks (a double agent) and Overhaul.

Shigaraki orchestrated a plan to dismantle the existing hero society and establish their dominion. Chaos ensued during the attack on the Front, with simultaneous assaults including the hospital clash between Nomus and pro heroes, the confrontation at Gunga Mountain Villa (Front's headquarters), and the evacuation battle in Jaku City led by Gigantomachia and Shigaraki.

In the hospital raid, heroes targeted Dr. Kyudai Garaki's facility to free captive civilians. Mirko, alias Rumi Usagiyama, played a crucial role in battling Nomus and preventing Dr. Kyudai's interference. Despite damage to Shigaraki's containment tank, he revived using a live wire, unleashing his devastating decay quirk on the city.

The villa raid involved capturing Meta Liberation Front members, where Hawks fatally struck Twice. Shigaraki and Gigantomachia, with their Lieutenants, caused havoc resulting in civilian and hero casualties, including Midnight's demise. Dabi's revelation as Endeavor's son further shook the heroes. Amid the chaos, Deku was targeted by Shigaraki but rescued by Gran Torino. The heroes, aided by Miro Togata and Best Jeanist, confronted the villains, leading to Shigaraki's retreat.

The Fall of The Paranormal Liberation Front?

Assessing the aftermath of the Heroes' Victory over Chaos

Despite the heroes' triumph in the war, the cost was high. While they captured several Front members and bases, Shigaraki eluded capture. Gigantomachia's rampage caused immense destruction and loss of lives, leading to public resentment towards heroes. Hero agencies faced closures, and the public's faith in heroism wavered. The capture of Front figures was a partial victory, overshadowed by the villains' escape. All for One's assault on Tartarus prison further fueled chaos and eroded trust in heroes, leaving the future's safety in doubt.
