After James Gunn's teaser photo for the new Superman movie received mixed reviews, a fan took matters into their own hands and created a unique version of David Corenswet's Superman outfit.

Gunn officially confirmed the movie 'Superman: Legacy' in January 2023, setting a release date for 2025. Recently, he provided an update, revealing the finalized title as 'Superman' and offering a sneak peek at Corenswet's Superman suit, focusing on the iconic yellow and red 'S' shield while leaving the rest of the costume undisclosed.

Some fans expressed discontent with the 'S' shield design, as it had been leaked online before filming began, resembling the Kingdom Come version by Mark Waid and Alex Ross. The notable difference was the color scheme, with Gunn opting for yellow instead of black. In response, BossLogic shared a revised version featuring the classic Kingdom Come colors of red and black, with a larger emblem that garnered more positive feedback.

The artist mentioned adjusting Corenswet's proportions and the logo size based on feedback, aiming for a bigger look. While many praised the fan art for its cleaner appearance, some critics pointed out issues like the off-center logo and fabric details. Nonetheless, the majority appreciated the redesign.

Corenswet's Superman attire has become a hot topic online following Gunn's teaser image of the 'S' shield. Speculations ran wild about the complete suit, considering only the logo was revealed. This heightened interest led to fake images circulating, prompting Gunn to debunk one such image by highlighting discrepancies like plain hands and knitted trunks in the fake photo.

As production gears up, Maria Gabriela de Faria hinted at the project's progress, teasing a 'wild shoot' leading up to filming. Gunn confirmed the start of principal photography on February 29, Superman's birthday, while keeping the full costume tightly under wraps. With production underway, leaks of the complete Superman costume may surface soon.

The Superman movie is set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
