GameStop has reintroduced four classic amiibos compatible with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, allowing enthusiasts to pre-order these figures that were previously out of circulation. Amiibos are a collection of toy figurines created by Nintendo. Initially launched in 2014 for the fourth installment of Super Smash Bros., players could connect their amiibos to their 3DS or Wii U to summon the corresponding character in-game, train them for rewards, and acquire new skills. The Nintendo Switch retained compatibility with these figures, with much of the Super Smash Bros. amiibo features carrying over to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Several older figures based on the Wii U and 3DS game's lineup can be utilized with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Ultimate later released its own set of figures reflecting some new or returning fighters like Pichu, Sephiroth, and Sora. Many of these older figures went out of stock, making it challenging for fans to locate their favorite amiibos or complete their collection. Nintendo has been replenishing certain amiibos since last year, with reprints of four figures from the Super Smash Bros. series currently available for pre-order at GameStop.

The four reissued Super Smash Bros. amiibos are modeled after Duck Hunt, Pikachu, R.O.B., and Charizard. All four amiibos are anticipated to be shipped on April 26, necessitating fans to wait a month before delivery. It is advisable for fans to secure their pre-orders promptly, as the stock may deplete before the new batch arrives. Each amiibo is priced at approximately $15.99, presenting an affordable option for obtaining amiibos from a retailer.

GameStop's Super Smash Bros. Restock

  • Duck Hunt (releasing April 26, 2024)
  • R.O.B. (releasing April 26, 2024)
  • Pikachu (releasing April 26, 2024)
  • Charizard (releasing April 26, 2024)

The reprinted Super Smash Bros. amiibos' packaging and poses are inspired by their appearances in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS. There is a slight inconsistency on GameStop's website concerning the R.O.B. listing, where the figure's image is the neutral gray NES version, while the box art depicts the Nintendo Famicom color scheme. Although the distinctions are subtle, collectors may verify their R.O.B. amiibo variant before making a purchase.

Earlier in January, GameStop restocked the popular Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Guardian amiibo, which has maintained ample stock since its restock. This suggests that the restocked Charizard, Pikachu, Duck Hunt, and R.O.B. amiibos might follow suit. More Super Smash Bros. amiibos are expected to be reprinted in 2024, catering to the fanbase's demand.
