This event will challenge Pokemon GO players to engage in battles with each other, alongside participating in various timed research tasks to earn extra rewards and special items. Moreover, certain Pokemon will have higher spawn rates during the event, adding to the excitement.

The Rivals Week event in Pokemon GO kicks off on Saturday, May 4, offering players a variety of exciting items and limited-time bonuses. Players can anticipate earning 10 XP by spinning Photo Discs at Pokemon GO Gyms, as well as doubling their Catch Candy. Additionally, players will have increased chances of encountering wild Pokemon such as Zangoose, Seviper, Throh, Sawk, Heatmor, and Durant.
Pokemon GO Hints at a New Event
This segment of the event will run until Thursday, May 9, featuring increased spawn rates for the following Pokemon, which will also be available in Shiny forms:

The second phase of this update focuses on battles, with GO Battle Weekend scheduled between Saturday, May 4, and Sunday, May 5. During this period, players can earn 4x Stardust from winning battles, receive complimentary battle-themed Timed Research rewards, and increase their daily battle sets from five to 20, totaling 100 battles. This also includes paid Timed Research in Pokemon GO. Additionally, for every $1 spent, players will gain access to exclusive event Timed Research tasks, offering rewards such as Stardust, a Star Piece, or Rare Candies.
