An enthusiastic Pokemon fan was in for a surprise when they found a copy of Pokemon Black 2 inside a container of LEGOs purchased at Goodwill. While Goodwill can be a treasure trove for vintage games at affordable prices, stumbling upon a game cartridge among a pile of LEGOs is a stroke of remarkable luck. Discoveries of this nature are rare and often the stuff of collectors' dreams.

Unlike previous generations, where Game Freak and The Pokemon Company created a third version of Pokemon Black and White, they broke the pattern by crafting direct sequels to the Nintendo DS games. To this day, Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 remain the only direct sequels in the main RPG series. Both the original games and their sequels have enjoyed significant success, with the Gen 5 games being highly regarded among Pokemon RPGs.

A Reddit user known as Ontheroadtw shared an image of a Pokemon Black 2 cartridge they found within a bin of LEGOs purchased from Goodwill. On top of the Nintendo DS game, Ontheroadtw estimates that they also stumbled upon approximately $500 worth of LEGO Minifigures, all obtained for just $199 for the entire container.

Aside from the LEGO figures' value, a Pokemon Black 2 cartridge typically sells for well over $100 on average, even without its original box and manual. While it may not match the value of some of the rarest Nintendo DS games, a cartridge worth more than $100 is undoubtedly a fortunate find.

In the world of Pokemon, fans have been speculating about the potential for remakes of Black and White, given previous patterns exhibited by The Pokemon Company. However, the company has also demonstrated unpredictability, so it's prudent for gamers to temper their expectations until any official announcements are made. Nevertheless, with numerous Unova pocket monsters absent from recent games, some anticipate the imminent arrival of Pokemon Gen 5 remakes.

Despite two rounds of downloadable content, it appears that Game Freak and The Pokemon Company are not quite finished with the current RPGs, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can look forward to January 11, as more content is scheduled for release.
