Malik Ambersley, a prominent figure on TikTok renowned for his portrayal of Spider-Man's Miles Morales NPC in livestreams, faced an unfortunate incident in late April when he was robbed on camera. The NPC livestream trend gained traction largely due to PinkyDoll, who adopts the persona of a video game NPC reacting to gifts from TikTok viewers. PinkyDoll, also known as Fedha Sinon, has garnered over 1.7 million followers on the platform and at one point earned up to $3,000 per stream.

Following PinkyDoll's success, other creators like Cherry Crush and Satoyu727 achieved similar popularity, inspiring others to partake in the trend. Among these creators was Malik, who embodies the beloved character from the game 'Spider-Man: Miles Morales' by Insomniac Games in his livestreams. His new role involves interacting with viewers in different settings, expressing gratitude as they send gifts like roses, ice cream, and galaxies, which is likely more fulfilling than his previous job as a Domino's delivery driver.

Incident During a Livestream

However, the journey for NPC TikTok personas is not devoid of challenges, as evidenced by a recent incident involving Malik. In late April, while livestreaming as Spider-Man's Miles Morales, Malik was approached by a passerby who engaged in friendly banter with him and the audience. The interaction seemed amicable, with Malik enjoying the moment and even breaking character briefly to take a selfie with the visitor. As Malik momentarily diverted his attention to the passerby, leaving the camera unattended, the feed briefly froze, followed by a sudden movement indicating theft.

Upon the feed's restoration, Malik appeared upset yet maintained his composure, revealing the theft of his phone. Despite the ordeal, he continued the livestream, mentioning that the robbers did not acquire much and displaying resilience. However, in a subsequent TikTok video titled 'no words,' released the next day, Malik appeared visibly distressed and on the verge of tears. Expressing disappointment in what seemed like a lack of support from his own community, Malik voiced his frustration, citing instances where individuals disrupted his livestreams. Additionally, he received messages from alleged thieves, one of whom demanded money for the return of stolen items, a request Malik refused to entertain.
