The No Man’s Sky: Orbital update was released on March 29, 2024, marking the 31st major update to the game since its tumultuous launch in 2016. This expansion, known as Orbital, brought forth exciting new features, including the realization of a long-standing community desire, enabling players to modify and craft their Starships.

The Orbital update also ushered in a variety of new station layouts and a complete revamp of station interiors. This overhaul means players who were familiar with the previous locations of station facilities now have to rediscover them in their new settings. The updated station interiors differ significantly from the single, original layout pre-Orbital update.

Teleporter

  • Find the teleporter in the central alcove.

The relocation of the teleporter in the Orbital update has significantly improved its accessibility. Previously, players had to traverse a considerable distance between the teleporter and the docking bay. The symmetrical layout also added complexity in remembering the teleporter's side. With the latest update, the teleporter now sits conveniently at the center of the ground floor, directly facing the docking bay, reducing the commute time between ship and teleporter to mere seconds.

Galactic Trade Terminal

  • Stand with your back to the docking tube.
  • Walk forward onto the lower level companionway.
  • Locate the galactic trade terminal in the central alcove.

In the world of No Man’s Sky, the tedious back-and-forth between the teleporter and the galactic trade terminal for transactions has been significantly streamlined with the Orbital update. Placing the galactic trade terminal opposite the teleporter has made it effortlessly accessible. Players can now seamlessly transition from the teleporter to the trade terminal upon arrival, eliminating the need for extensive station traversals.

Cartographer

Find It on the Ground Floor, Positioned on the Left Side of the Companionway

  • Stand with your back to the docking tube.
  • Walk forward onto the lower level companionway.
  • Spot the cartographer in the left-hand alcove.

The cartographer, responsible for selling planetary maps and other cartographic goods, has now found a more convenient spot in the station layout post-Orbital update. Positioned adjacent to the docking bay on the ground floor, the cartographer's relocation minimizes unnecessary running across the station, optimizing the gameplay loop for players.
