A prominent YouTuber recently uncovered a remarkable tactic employed by the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 cheating community. This strategy involves a sophisticated cheat that can identify when a player is under scrutiny and deactivate their cheats during critical moments. Cheating has long plagued Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and other popular FPS games.

Responding to the escalating cheating concerns, Call of Duty confirmed a surge in cheaters detected by its Ricochet Anti-Cheat system. The developers have responded by fortifying Ricochet and planning further enhancements. Despite these efforts, players remain dismayed by the abundance of cheaters, particularly in competitive modes like Warzone's Ranked Resurgence and Modern Warfare 3's Ranked Play.

YouTuber NukeJesus shared insights from infiltrating a secretive Call of Duty cheating group. Ricochet's method of investigating suspected cheaters involves capturing screenshots of a player's perspective during gameplay. NukeJesus revealed that a cheat within the group can preempt Ricochet's screenshot capture and disable cheats simultaneously. In a revealing video, a player dodged 44 Ricochet screenshots in a single match, with reports of evading over 100 such instances.

Strategies for Evading Detection

NukeJesus disclosed that six of the top 10 players in Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play are part of this cheating Discord. Similar issues exist at the highest tiers of Ranked Warzone. The proactive nature of cheat development often outpaces reactive anti-cheat measures, highlighting a significant challenge for Call of Duty.

Recent challenges for Call of Duty include an in-game exploit enabling infinite semi-automatic grenade launches. To address this, the game developers temporarily disabled the attachment on February 27 for investigation, and it remains inactive as of now.

On a brighter note, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has announced its launch date on March 21. This release will enable Android and iOS users to explore Verdansk and Fortune's Keep while earning XP linked to their console or PC accounts.
