An uproarious twist has been introduced to the intense and gory realm of Mortal Kombat 1 with a PC mod that incorporates character skins of some of Pixar's most cherished personalities. Released in September 2023, Mortal Kombat 1 represents a reboot of the iconic fighting series, where Fire God Liu Kang forges a brand-new universe. Although nominated for the Best Fighting Game at the 2023 Game Awards, Mortal Kombat 1 ultimately lost to its counterpart, Capcom's Street Fighter 6, which received widespread critical acclaim upon its earlier 2023 release.

Since its launch, Mortal Kombat 1 has unveiled two DLC characters: the franchise antagonist Quan-Chi and a crossover with Omni-Man from the popular animated series Invincible on Amazon. Moreover, the game has several other intriguing characters in the pipeline, including Homelander from The Boys, DC's Peacemaker, as well as Mortal Kombat characters Ermac and Takeda. Recently, the game also introduced the second post-launch Kameo fighter, Khameleon.

Despite the influx of new characters into Mortal Kombat 1, a comical mod has emerged, introducing some of Disney Pixar's most beloved characters into the fighting game. A brief video clip shared on Twitter by iScreamFGC showcases the mod in action, featuring Woody from Toy Story facing off against the champion of the Scare Floor, James P. Sullivan from Monsters, Inc. Appropriately, Woody and his iconic cowboy hat were integrated into Kung Lao, while Sully adopted the moves of Reiko, one of Outworld's most formidable warriors. Woody's trusty companion, Jessie, also makes an appearance as his Kameo partner before Woody executes a brutal fatality on Sully, tearing him in two.

The mastermind behind the mod, Gee Lambo, operates a YouTube channel where an assortment of mods for Mortal Kombat 1 is showcased. Various Pixar characters have been featured in the form of mods, including Carl and Russell from Up and Fear from Inside Out. Additionally, the channel presents mods featuring iconic Dreamworks characters like Shrek, Megamind, and Po from Kung Fu Panda. Furthermore, Gee Lambo crafts mods for other games, such as replacing Cal Kestis with Fry from Futurama in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The channel also provides valuable PC settings guides for games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Ubisoft's recent release, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, along with numerous mod tutorials catering to PC gaming enthusiasts.

For those who refrain from using PC mods, there is still much to anticipate in Mortal Kombat 1, with additional official DLC characters slated for release in the coming months. Up next is Peacemaker from DC's Max series of the same name, set to join the MK1 roster on February 20. Ermac, Homelander, and Takeda are expected to follow suit as the summer draws near.
