Exciting news for Minecraft enthusiasts as Mojang has officially named the highly anticipated Update 1.21: Tricky Trials. Scheduled for a June 2024 release, Tricky Trials promises to bring a plethora of fresh elements to the beloved Minecraft universe, including new weaponry, challenges, crafting materials, and more.
The most recent Minecraft update, Update 1.205 titled Armored Paws, has been warmly welcomed by players and modders alike. This update, launched just days ago, introduced an adorable armadillo critter, eight new wolf skin variations, and the ability to fashion wolf armor using armadillo scutes. Undeterred by the success of the current update, Mojang is forging ahead with details about the upcoming release.
The official name reveal for the next update was made during an episode of the official Minecraft Monthly video on April 26. Vanilla Minecraft game director Agnes Larrson unveiled the name, Tricky Trials, at the 5:13 mark of the video. The element of 'Trials' in the name signifies the adventurous challenges that await players in June, including the introduction of Minecraft's new Ominous Trials. On the other hand, the 'Tricky' aspect of the name acknowledges the delightfully challenging features of the upcoming update and the new items that will enable players to experiment in various ways. Larrson explained, "'Tricky' embodies this quirky Minecraft personality, a quality we truly appreciate."
