A respected gaming news enthusiast has unearthed indications that Metroid Prime 4 could be nearing the conclusion of its development cycle. Since the release of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption in 2007, fans have eagerly awaited a new installment in the beloved Metroid Prime series. The announcement of Metroid Prime 4 at E3 2017 was followed by numerous setbacks.

Originally, Bandai Namco Studios was set to develop Metroid Prime 4, but Nintendo was dissatisfied with their work. As a result, in 2019, the project was restarted under the supervision of original Metroid Prime co-producer Kensuke Tanabe and Retro Studios, the developer of the first three Metroid Prime games. Since then, information about the game has been scarce, except for reports of Retro Studios' hirings and rumors of a possible summer release for Metroid Prime 4.

Recently, SuperMetalDave64, a prominent Nintendo-focused YouTuber, shared a video presenting several clues that suggest Metroid Prime 4 might be nearing the end of its tumultuous development. According to the findings, approximately ten months ago, Nintendo conducted quality evaluations on trial versions of Metroid Prime 4 to identify bugs and technical issues. This information was derived from the resume of Edwin Atwell, who has experience in quality testing games such as Call of Duty using bug-tracking software like Jira.

SuperMetalDave64 also disclosed that Retro Studios had been recruiting individuals with diverse industry experience to contribute to the game between 2021 and 2022. Additionally, it was revealed that Retro Studios had established a partnership with Next-Gen Dreams 3D, a studio known for crafting detailed and imaginative debut trailers for video games. Although this information does not guarantee an imminent unveiling of Metroid Prime 4, it does strongly indicate that the game is making significant progress towards release.

Having been in development for nearly five years since its restart with Retro Studios in charge, Metroid Prime 4 has kept eager fans engaged with the release of Metroid Dread in 2021 and Metroid Prime Remastered last February. If SuperMetalDave64's recent findings are accurate, it may not be long before players can once again join Samus in Metroid Prime 4.
