A recent update has been released for Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 exclusively for Steam users. In a surprising move in 2023, Konami announced the bundling of the first 5 Metal Gear games under the title of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1, incorporating Metal Gear 1 and 2, along with the initial three Metal Gear Solid games.

The last update, which arrived in January 2024, introduced full compatibility with Steam Deck for the latest Metal Gear Solid collection, a much-requested addition among gamers. Konami now extends its support for this long-standing tactical espionage series with the latest update currently rolling out for PC players.

Through an announcement on the Metal Gear social channels, the 1.5.0 Update for the Master Collection is now accessible on Steam. This patch targets various issues across the 5 games, particularly focusing on Metal Gear Solid. It includes fixes for bugs causing certain cutscenes to malfunction and addresses an unresponsive analog control glitch. Konami has confirmed that the update will reach PS5, PS4, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S by the end of March 2024.

For Metal Gear Solid 2, the update introduces a new pause menu allowing players to adjust audio and screen settings, access the online manual, and reset the game. Metal Gear Solid 3 receives several graphical improvements and adds a mouse sensitivity option. The 1.5.0 update also resolves minor issues within the bonus features of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection.

Since its launch in October 2023, the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 has undergone a systematic resolution of known bugs by the developers. With the latest development phase completed, the only remaining item on the list is an intermittent audio distortion issue in the Nintendo Switch version of the collection.

Aside from the recent update to the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection, players can anticipate more exciting developments. Konami is actively working on a full remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, featuring David Hayter reprising his role as Solid Snake. The remake, titled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, though lacking a confirmed release date, is rumored to be approaching its launch date.
