Meta Platforms, the developer behind the Oculus Quest series, has introduced a new feature to its Meta Quest+ subscription service: a rotating game library similar to Xbox Game Pass. Initially launched in 2019, the Oculus Quest line has evolved with successive models like Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3, expanding its game library over time.
Despite advancements, VR gaming has struggled to gain widespread popularity. Industry leaders, such as Yves Guillemot from Ubisoft, have expressed concerns over VR game sales. While competitors like Samsung and PlayStation have made efforts in the VR space, the industry is still considered to be in its early stages.
To attract more users, Meta Platforms has enhanced Meta Quest+ by introducing a rotating library of titles included in the monthly subscription, akin to Xbox Game Pass. In addition to the two monthly titles, subscribers can now access a variety of games that rotate regularly. Subscribers retain access to all redeemed games as long as they stay subscribed. Even if their subscription lapses, they can reclaim their games upon resubscribing.
