Exploring the vast array of additions in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, the Steamworks at Seliana often remains unnoticed, yet it holds the potential to yield substantial wealth and rare crafting materials for hunters.

Although initially bewildering due to its high-energy nature, mastering the Steamworks is essential for avid crafting and melding in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.

Decoding MHW Steamworks

The Steamworks serves as a minigame that transforms Dragonvein Coal and other fuel sources into valuable items without engaging in combat with formidable monsters. Located near the Seliana Gathering Hub, it is operated by Wyverian and Palico engineers, aiming to propel the Steamworks into Overdrive by activating the buttons displayed on the screen.

Participating in the Steamworks minigame involves a simple task: pressing the buttons in the correct sequence. However, the sequence is undisclosed, requiring players to make educated guesses. Despite the correctness of the sequence, rewards such as Armor Spheres, Barrel Bombs, Tranq Bombs, and Max Potions are obtained. Correct guesses result in increased steam production, elevating the chances of acquiring higher-quality items. Each sequence completion consumes 10 fuel points.

Upon accurately guessing a button sequence, the pressure gauges turn red, ensuring the subsequent correct button presses guarantee superior rewards like Hard Armor Spheres, Gourmet Vouchers, and Golden Melding Tickets, making it an optimal method for accumulating armor decorations.

The minigame features two bonus modes designed to expedite the main steam gauge's filling. One mode reveals the correct button sequence through three Palicoes, while the other increases steam production per correct button press.

Primarily serving as an additional source of materials that are tedious to gather during quests, the Steamworks' most coveted rewards include Celestial Wyvern Prints, enabling the crafting of exceedingly rare monster drops at the Elder Melder.
