  • Dealing with Oxen Loss in Manor Lords

Manor Lords presents players with a realistic gaming experience where resources must be physically transported using Oxen or workers, unlike simply appearing in the inventory. Oxen play a crucial role in moving materials like timber across your controlled territory. As your village expands, the need for more Oxen increases to keep up with the demands.

How to Increase Your Oxen Count in Manor Lords

At the beginning, players only have one Ox, which can suffice for smaller villages but becomes insufficient as the village grows. With numerous operations and constructions, one Ox may struggle to transport all supplies efficiently, leading to delays in building or upgrading structures. To address this, it's advisable to acquire more Oxen once you have enough wealth in the region. You can do this by either ordering from the Hitching Post or importing through the Livestock Trading Post.

Ordering Oxen from the Hitching Post

Each Ox from the Hitching Post costs 20 Regional Wealth, and you can order one Ox per month. To place an order, click on the Hitching Post, select the Ox icon with a plus sign labeled "Order Another Ox." A livestock merchant will deliver the Ox the following day. Consider upgrading the Hitching Post to a Small Stable to accommodate more Oxen.

Acquiring Oxen from the Livestock Trading Post

The Livestock Trading Post allows unlimited Oxen orders if you have sufficient Regional Wealth. Besides Oxen, you can also order horses, mules, and sheep. Access the Trading Section, change the status to Import next to the Ox icon, and adjust the quantity as needed.

Having multiple Oxen in a medium village can enhance productivity and speed up resource transportation. Unlocking the Heavy Plot development point enables ordering more Oxen for efficient farming.

Managing Oxen Loss in Manor Lords

Fires in Manor Lords can result in Oxen casualties, impacting your settlement. Whether due to enemy attacks or natural disasters, fires are a threat. If an Ox dies in a fire, replacements must be ordered from the Hitching Post or Livestock Trading Post. Losing all Oxen without a Trading Post marks the end of settlement progress, necessitating a new game.

To prevent such losses, build separate hitching posts away from flammable structures, ensuring Oxen safety. Aim to have multiple Oxen as backups for emergencies like fire incidents.
