Resolving Entertainment Woes in Manor Lords

Highlights

  • Build a Tavern in the settlement to provide entertainment
  • Ensure a steady source of Ale to keep settlers happy
  • Consider importing Ale if local production is not viable

When you take on the role of managing settlers in Manor Lords, ensuring their well-being becomes your primary responsibility. From constructing burgage plots for shelter to securing ample food sources for sustenance, and eventually addressing their need for entertainment, it all falls under the lord's duties.

As burgage plots advance in levels, the families residing within begin to seek more comforts to maintain their contentment. The issue of Lack of Entertainment arises once a burgage plot reaches level 3, and the occupants start desiring improved living conditions and recreational activities beyond monotonous labor. Here's how you can tackle this challenge.

Ways to Overcome Lack of Entertainment in Manor Lords

Combatting Lack of Entertainment involves constructing a Tavern (found under Construction > Residential) within the settlement, assigning a family to operate it, and ensuring a regular supply of Ale to serve the townspeople. Similar to Taxation, insufficient entertainment will lead to discontent among settlers, but only families in level 3 Burgage plots will contribute to the Negative Approval Rating.

Prolonged grievances about the absence of entertainment and Ale shortages will progressively lower your Approval Rating.

It suffices to erect a single Tavern per settlement. Opt for a location near the highest-level burgage plots to minimize travel for villagers in dire need of a drink.

Acquiring and Utilizing Ale in Manor Lords

Crafting your own ale demands substantial initial investments before yielding returns. Here's what you need to do:

Note that the workers at the Brewery and the Tavern must be distinct. This implies that a minimum of four laborers is essential to maintain ale production: one at the farm, one at the Malthouse, one at the Brewery, and one at the Tavern.

Alternatively, players have the option to import Ale through traders. Although this incurs a significant cost, it can be a viable solution if Barley cultivation is unfeasible due to poor soil fertility, until new territories are conquered, granting access to more arable land.
