Departing from conventional manga narratives, this special anthology aims to provide an educational experience by transforming historical figures and events into manga form, offering an innovative approach to learning about history.

This anthology, titled Educational Manga-History of the World (referred to as History of the World), has enlisted prominent mangaka responsible for popular titles like Spy x Family, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and My Hero Academia to contribute illustrations. These artists are tasked with creating new cover art for existing issues and expanding on the stories within.

Unveiling the Legacy of History of the World

With a history spanning over two decades, History of the World was introduced in 2002 as a series of manga volumes designed to engage readers in a fun and interactive exploration of historical events. Comprising 18 volumes to date, the collection spans more than a millennium of history. While the original series is complete, this new initiative aims to revitalize the franchise and attract both returning and new audiences.

The allure of this project lies in the involvement of renowned artists and their contributions. While retaining the original manga narratives, each volume will be enhanced with approximately 50 additional pages, a move intended to rekindle the interest of existing fans and captivate newcomers. Moreover, contemporary mangaka are reimagining the cover art for each volume, portraying famous historical figures in their distinctive artistic styles to appeal to a broader audience.
