Before Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch Productions was known for their work on Infamous and Sly Cooper. The first Infamous game was released in 2009 and was an immediate hit with fans. The edgy aesthetic, dark color palette, and binary morality system all matched industry trends. The game was released only a year after the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ahead of the massive wave of superhero content that followed. Furthermore, Infamous was an original IP, and its focus on player freedom, combined with the plethora of available powers, made it stand out. Now that Sucker Punch has moved on, LEGO should continue the series' legacy.
LEGO is best known for its toy building sets, but the company has been putting its name on video games for over 20 years now. There are two types of LEGO games. The first is their original titles, such as Lego 2K Drive and the new LEGO Fortnite survival game. The other type of games attached to the brand are their licensed ones, such as the LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Indiana Jones series. These licensed games take various franchises and recreate them as family-friendly titles that anyone can enjoy. LEGO adaptations frequently infuse a cheeky sense of humor into the source material, making them a joyous way to revisit a series.
LEGO Has A Long History With Superheroes

Since 2008, LEGO has been adapting various Marvel and DC stories. The Incredibles was also given a game in 2018, showing that the company is willing to move away from the largest franchises in the space. Superhero games make up a large chunk of the licensed LEGO games released.

TT Games, the developers behind the LEGO games, have a ton of experience with adapting superhero stories into their style, so teaming up with Sony to adapt the Infamous series would make sense for both sides. There are three mainline titles in the series, as well as a standalone expansion and some DLC content. LEGO adaptations frequently feature condensed stories, so the developers could retell the series in 2 installments, one covering the story of Cole MacGrath and a second covering the events of Second Son and First Light. These games could also take some creative liberty and let players control other characters that appear in each title or add unique site content.
Infamous Is Perfect For The LEGO Game Formula

Infamous featured a gritty color palette and an edgy aesthetic. This was trendy at the time of its release, but it serves to date the game now. While there is nothing inherently wrong with this, a LEGO Infamous game could feature more vibrant colors and present the story in a manner that is less self-serious. Infamous: Second Son already moved away from the grit of the original and featured a more vibrant world, so a re-imagining could bring some much-needed levity to the original two entries in the series. All the Infamous titles are among Sucker Punch's best games, so seeing them again in LEGO form would be a nostalgic way to revisit the series while updating it.
There Is Still Interest in Infamous
Despite Sucker Punch having moved on to Ghost of Tsushima, fans are demanding Infamous remakes. The popularity of superhero media is no longer at its absolute peak, but the genre is still extremely sought after, and Infamous stands out from other similar properties due to its unique universe. A LEGO Infamous game may not be what fans are asking for right now, but it would be an unexpected and entertaining way to bring the series back for new and returning players alike.
