LEGO Fortnite's recent v29.30 update fulfilled players' wishes by introducing animals to the village feature. This addition goes beyond aesthetics, offering a resourceful strategy for gathering essential items swiftly.

While crafting in LEGO Fortnite presents challenges due to ingredient collection, the Farm Friends update presents a fun and efficient method to gather valuable resources.

Constructing an Animal Farm

To start incorporating animals into your village, you must first build an animal farm or barn. This barn becomes accessible from the Build Menu once your village reaches Level 2. If you don't have a village yet, you'll need to kickstart one by establishing a village square using 10 wood and 10 granite. As your village level increases with structures like Campfires and Shacks, the barn unlocks in your recipe list. Crafting a barn requires 10 Planks, easily obtained by processing Wood in a Lumber Mill constructed with 8 Wood and 15 Granite. These resources are readily available across the game world.

Animal Taming Techniques

With the barn in place, you gain access to animal treats essential for taming. Build a grill in LEGO Fortnite using 30 Granite pieces, then craft an animal treat with 5 Vines and 3 Corn. When encountering a tamable animal in the wild, equip the treat, approach the animal, and feed it. The animal will start following you and can be guided back to the village. Remember, animals need both a barn and a resident spot in your village.

Transporting animals to the village may pose challenges, but offering treats or using vehicles to lead them back simplifies the process.

Caring for Your Animals

Taming animals is just the beginning; maintaining their well-being is crucial. Regular feeding and petting boost their happiness levels. Assigning a villager as an Animal Caretaker ensures consistent care and feeding, preventing animals from leaving due to neglect. Feeding animals, like cows and chickens, with specific items influences the resources they yield and their overall happiness. Experimenting with different food combinations can lead to varied and valuable outcomes.
