LEGO 2K Drive has just rolled out Update 5, now ready for download on all platforms. This update brings a wave of fresh content to Visual Concepts' arcade racing game, including a brand-new biome, additional game modes, and a host of enhancements across the board.

First launched in May 2023, LEGO 2K Drive marked the beginning of a multi-game collaboration between 2K and the renowned Danish toy manufacturer. Drawing inspiration from the beloved LEGO Racers 2 from 2001, this title offers an expansive open world packed with various racing challenges and collectibles. While praised for its design and production quality, the game faced criticism at launch for its live-service aspects.

Despite initial feedback, Visual Concepts continued to deliver regular updates for LEGO 2K Drive, with the latest, Update 5, hitting PCs and consoles in mid-March, ahead of the game's first anniversary. The standout feature of this update is the Stargaze Summit, a new snowy biome located in Bricklandia. This area includes seven races, three challenges, and nine On-The-Go events. Completing these tasks rewards players with unique vehicles, drivers, and a new item category called Special Flairs, which provide in-game advantages.

The update introduces nine Special Flairs that can be attached to vehicles, enhancing their capabilities. These include features like alternate camera views and collectible detectors. Some even offer abilities such as flamethrowers, speed boosts, and improved jetpack power-ups, enriching the game's variety and customization options.

Players seeking access to Stargaze Summit must first locate a new NPC in Prospecto Valley, as stated in the Update 5 patch notes. Additionally, two new game modes, Time Trial and Goal Karts Hockey, have been added. The latter supports local split-screen for two players and online multiplayer for two teams of three.

Other notable additions in this update include expanded leaderboards, the ability to upload modified vehicles to the Creators Hub, and various stability improvements and bug fixes. With these fresh features, LEGO 2K Drive solidifies its position as one of the most engaging LEGO games to fully experience.
