Insider Leaks Updates on Horizon 3 and Naughty Dog's New IP

Highlights

  • The reveal of Horizon 3 is not expected anytime soon according to a reputable leaker.
  • Naughty Dog's next game is rumored to be a new IP and not The Last of Us 3.
  • The Last of Us 3 is in pre-production, while a new IP project is actively being developed by Naughty Dog.

Recent insights from a well-regarded leaker suggest that the highly anticipated Horizon 3 unveiling is not on the immediate horizon. This same source also shared updates on Naughty Dog's next venture.

The informant, known as Silknigth on Twitter, has emerged as a credible source since their social media debut in January 2024. Their track record includes accurate predictions, such as the PC port of Ghost of Tsushima, which they disclosed before the official announcement on March 6.

Naughty Dog's Future Game Might Surprise Fans

Silknigth recently took to Twitter to address speculations surrounding the sequel to Horizon Forbidden West. Contrary to hopes for a spring reveal, the leaker hinted that the third installment of Horizon is not yet ready for the spotlight, stating it will take longer to be unveiled. Additionally, the leaker mentioned that Naughty Dog's ongoing project is not The Last of Us 3 but an entirely original intellectual property.

Although The Last of Us 3 is in the early stages of development, Naughty Dog seems to be prioritizing the new IP project. This aligns with comments from Neil Druckmann, President of Naughty Dog, in the documentary Grounded 2, where he hinted at plans for The Last of Us Part 3.

Anticipated Revelations on the Horizon

While details on the release date of Horizon 3 remain elusive, signs point to a potential unveiling in 2024. With Sony's decision to forego new franchise releases this year, announcements about established titles are anticipated to maintain player engagement.

As confirmation of Horizon 3 came from Guerrilla in April 2023, it is reasonable to expect updates before the year concludes. Additionally, rumors suggest that NCSoft is developing a Horizon MMO, codenamed Project Skyline, hinting at more excitement in the near future.
