Xbox's exclusive title Killer Instinct: Anniversary Edition has recently been updated with a range of enhancements including gameplay improvements, visual upgrades, and numerous bug fixes. This significant update comes almost 11 years after the original launch of Killer Instinct.

The iconic fighting game series was first developed by Rare in 1994. Microsoft took over the franchise following its acquisition of the UK studio in 2002. After a decade, the game was revived with the 2013 reboot of Killer Instinct, developed by Double Helix Games, now a subsidiary of Amazon. Killer Instinct: Anniversary Edition was then introduced in November 2023 by Iron Galaxy Studios based in Chicago.

Following a December patch, Iron Galaxy has now rolled out the Killer Instinct: Anniversary Edition update 3.11.14. This latest version brings a myriad of changes, including gameplay adjustments, stability fixes, and new graphic options. Notably, the game now supports AMD's FSR 2 upscaling technology, which has been integrated 18 months after its initial availability to Xbox developers.

Maya's Knife Normals Enhanced in Killer Instinct: Anniversary Edition

The recent update also addresses rare issues related to input drops that could occur when restarting the game using the Xbox Series X/S Quick Resume feature. Among the balancing changes, Maya receives significant updates, making her knife normals hit harder and faster. The intention is to incentivize players to utilize her blade-based attacks over kicks.

The update went live on February 29 at 4 pm ET for PC and the last two generations of Xbox consoles, including the Xbox Game Pass version. This version has been accessible to Microsoft's subscribers since its launch.
