Recently, Halo Infinite rolled out a significant update that included a new operation, arena map, forge features, and more. The new map, Illusion, is a unique stage that features a camo-inducing central hallway, offering interesting gameplay opportunities. Its level designers described it as a tribute to Halo: Combat Evolved's map design, which also featured similarly unique levels. Looking ahead, it appears that Halo Infinite will continue to reference other parts of the Halo franchise.

Halo Infinite introduced two items based on the Halo show's Riz-028 character. Her reddish helmet visor can be unlocked by simply logging into Halo Infinite, and her helmet can be unlocked by completing this week's ultimate challenge, running from February 6th to February 13th. To start the ultimate challenge, users must first complete the regular weekly challenges. This week's ultimate challenge requires users to eliminate five enemies with sniper rifles in a single game or earn one No Scope medal. Additionally, Halo Infinite has confirmed that more cosmetics inspired by the Halo show will be added to the game soon. From February 20 to February 27th, players can earn Vannak-134's helmet.

Last week, players could also earn Kai-125's helmet by completing the ultimate challenge, but the free offer is no longer available. Many Halo fans who were not impressed by the show's controversial first season are hopeful for an improved Halo season 2. Master Chief actor Pablo Schreiber seemingly hinted at this possibility by mentioning that Halo season 2 will bring numerous changes from the previous season. Regardless of the show's quality, many Halo fans are likely excited about unlocking new helmets for free.

Halo Infinite's references to other parts of the franchise don't stop there, as the previously mentioned Illusion map contains a secret room filled with Halo easter eggs. Users can also access a drivable forklift on Illusion by collecting various ONI tags around the map during an Infection match, with the forklift being another reference to previous Halo games.
