Lords of the Fallen has rolled out its new update 1.1.598 for all players. This latest release brings about various alterations to the game's PvP multiplayer system, alongside fixes for bugs, enhancements for stability, and improvements to the user interface.

The sequel to the original 2014 ARPG by CI Games, Lords of the Fallen, hit the shelves to a mixed reception back in October 2023. Since then, the game has undergone more than twenty patches, predominantly focusing on tweaks to multiplayer balancing and minor bug rectifications, with some updates even introducing fresh content.

The most recent update labeled patch 1.1.598 marks the 30th update for Lords of the Fallen so far. This patch encompasses close to thirty adjustments, featuring a new series of PvP balancing modifications intended to enhance the overall multiplayer experience, as stated by the developer Hexworks. Among these changes, a significant tweak involves reducing the flat damage multiplier from 0.5 to 0.25. This reduction in bonus damage aims to extend match durations, aligning with Hexworks' objective of fostering more engaging combat experiences. Hexworks further explained that after evaluating the average time-to-kill in PvP multiplayer, it was evident that it conflicted with the notion of 'optimal combat,' depriving players of the chance to engage in prolonged skirmishes.

Furthermore, the developers have doubled the stab PvP damage multiplier across all weapons except for the Ultra Greatswords, which have received a 25% boost. Hexworks hopes that this adjustment will elevate the significance of stab attacks within the Lords of the Fallen PvP scene. Conversely, Harrower Dervla's Crossbow has been nerfed, reducing its damage output by 66% to discourage its prevalent use and introduce more variety in PvP gameplay. Additionally, this patch serves as an opportunity for Hexworks to rebalance several spells and decrease the status effect buildup multiplier by 25%, changes exclusive to PvP scenarios.

The 1.1.598 update also addresses issues related to Lords of the Fallen bosses, such as fixing a bug that allowed the Hushed Saint to eject players from the arena unexpectedly. Following this patch, the encounter with the Sundered Monarch is expected to run smoother with Hexworks implementing optimizations to the level streaming process specifically tailored for this battle. Similar enhancements have been made to improve performance around the Skyrest Bridge.

In terms of general bug fixes, the latest version of the game addresses a total of 20 issues. Given Hexworks' consistent update history, players can anticipate more Lords of the Fallen patches to arrive throughout the spring.
