These techniques allow players to manipulate water, fire, earth, and air elements to conquer their enemies and edge closer to a Victory Royale. If you're a fan of either franchise or simply looking for potent weapons in Fortnite, this collaboration is a must-experience.

Fortunately, these bending powers are scattered across various locations, and this comprehensive guide will steer you towards discovering and mastering each technique in the realm of Fortnite.

Updated on April 13, 2024, by Ashely Claudino: Initially, Waterbending stood as the sole bending technique available in Fortnite Battle Royale. However, with the advent of the collaboration event, three additional techniques - Airbending, Firebending, and Earthbending - were introduced. Moreover, Elemental Shrines have been integrated into the map, facilitating the acquisition of these empowering techniques.

This guide has been enriched with insights on the new loot spots and techniques introduced through the Fortnite x Avatar: The Last Airbender partnership. All these enhancements will remain accessible until the event concludes on May 13 at 2 AM ET.

Locating Avatar's Mythic Bending Techniques

In Fortnite, you'll encounter four bending techniques: Waterbending, Firebending, Airbending, and Earthbending. Each Avatar Mythic can be obtained as floor loot or from chest containers. However, there's a surefire method for players to secure their preferred technique.

Following the commencement of the Avatar Elements event in Fortnite, a series of Elemental Shrines materialized on the island. With eight Elemental Shrines in total, two dedicated to each technique, gamers can visit a shrine, unlock the Avatar Chest at its core, and guarantee themselves a bending prowess. Each Avatar Chest dispenses two bending items aligned with the shrine's elemental affinity.

Mastering Earthbending Techniques

Renowned for its blend of defensive and offensive capabilities, Earthbending stands out as a premier bending technique in Fortnite. While wielding Earthbending, players can unleash rocks by pressing the Shoot button or erect a protective rock barrier by using the Aim button.

Rock projectiles hurled at adversaries inflict a substantial 85 damage with each hit. These projectiles can deplete a significant portion of an opponent's health in a single blow if their shields are down. Boasting five charges, each taking a mere eight seconds to recharge, players can carry multiple Earthbending items, alternating between them for continuous usage as the cooldown applies collectively to the inventory.

The rock wall attribute erects a robust barrier around the player, shielding them from incoming attacks. This feature proves invaluable in Zero Build mode, where players lack defensive options in open spaces.

Exploring Airbending Techniques

Unlike its counterparts, Airbending leans more towards enhancing mobility than offensive potential. Functioning as a superb mobility tool in Fortnite, Airbending enables swift traversal across the island in an Air Wheel.

Players can execute the Air Jump maneuver to propel themselves and nearby foes into the air, potentially causing fall damage. Although not the most effective offensive tool, many players opt to reserve an inventory slot for Airbending due to the paramount importance of mobility in Fortnite Battle Royale.

Embracing Waterbending Techniques

Waterbending introduces a layer of intricacy, requiring more than just a button press to unleash its full potential against foes. Players can savor several facets of Waterbending:

  • Hurl sharp, icy projectiles at opponents
  • Gradually heal up to 100 Health
  • Regenerate Waterbending charges while swimming
  • Swim faster
  • Enjoy infinite ammo
  • Benefit from 10 charges per reload

Although the ammo for Waterbending is unlimited, players must reload their ice projectiles after every 10 throws or at their discretion. The reload animation is swift, complementing the impressive damage output:

  • 22 body shot damage (per blast)
  • 27 headshot damage

With 10 ice projectiles per reload, players can unleash a total of 540 damage by landing headshots with every projectile, making it a potent force against groups of adversaries. Additionally, Waterbending not only deals damage but also passively restores lost Health while swimming, requiring no active equipping, just presence in the inventory to initiate healing. Though the healing may be gradual, it aids in surviving lower-tier storms, albeit offering limited protection against enemy attacks.

Utilizing Firebending Techniques

Firebending epitomizes an offense-oriented bending technique in Fortnite, featuring swift and straightforward moves that are easy to grasp. The technique comprises two maneuvers: Fire Sweep and Fire Slam.

To execute the Fire Sweep, players simply need to press the Shoot button, unleashing a 40-damage attack that can be repeated rapidly without triggering a cooldown.

On the other hand, the Fire Slam inflicts 80 damage but initiates a five-second cooldown post-usage. This potent ability can swiftly eliminate opponents, provided players have a contingency plan or adequate cover to safeguard themselves after unleashing the attack.
