Five Nights At Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 is transitioning from a VR-exclusive title to the PlayStation 5, slated for release on June 20. Existing owners of the PlayStation VR 2 version will receive the PS5 port at no additional cost.
The original Five Nights At Freddy's: Help Wanted debuted in 2019, offering a departure from the series' typical survival horror gameplay by incorporating minigames. In contrast, Help Wanted 2 occurs between Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach and its Ruin DLC, featuring 40 minigames with updated characters and foes like Roxanne Wolf, Montgomery Gator, Circus Baby, and Ballora.
The June 20 release date announcement was shared on the PlayStation Blog on April 18 by Ray McCaffrey, Steel Wool Studios' chief development officer. McCaffrey praised the PS5 version for its intuitive point-and-click controls, enhancing gameplay for a broader audience.
Expanding Access to Help Wanted 2
This marks a significant moment for non-VR FNAF fans, as Help Wanted 2 becomes playable without a headset. Originally launched for PlayStation VR 2 and Steam in December 2023, the game has garnered positive reviews, with a 94% approval rating on Steam. McCaffrey hopes this expansion will attract more players, boosting the game's popularity and aiding in unraveling FNAF's intricate lore.
This move signifies progress in enhancing FNAF series accessibility. Given the positive reception of the original Help Wanted on PlayStation 4, the upcoming release of Help Wanted 2 on PS5 is expected to evoke a similar response this summer.
