Locating the EXP Up Materia

The solitary EXP Up Materia can be found in Chapter 13, inside the Temple Of Ancients. Progress through the temple until you encounter a waterfall; jump down and proceed up the stairs to the left, defeating monsters along the way. Upon reaching the platform, ascend the higher set of stairs adjacent to your previous path to locate the Amberstar Gear. Turn the gear clockwise to alter gravity, revealing a new path to the left where two Ancient Dragons guard the EXP Up Materia.

These dragons are susceptible to wind attacks, making them vulnerable to spells before engaging in melee combat. Once defeated, proceed through the gate on the right to claim the EXP Up Materia from the adjacent platform.

Functionality of the EXP Up Materia

Although equipped on a single character, the EXP Up Materia benefits the entire party by doubling the experience points gained post-battle. This Materia enhances the XP distribution among party members, ensuring balanced progression without any character outpacing the rest. As the EXP Up Materia cannot be leveled up or require AP to enhance, it immediately boosts experience gains. Pairing it with Hard Mode post-game completion can rapidly elevate the entire party to the maximum level.
