Final Fantasy 16: The Rising Tide introduces a variety of new weapons, gear, and accessories for Clive to utilize on his journey. In addition to the expected Leviathan-inspired sword, players can also acquire the distinctive Tonberry Knife, boasting exceptional stats within the game.

Acquiring the Tonberry Knife

To obtain the Tonberry Knife, players must visit the blacksmith in Haven after progressing through the DLC storyline. Upon reaching the Aire Of Hours, a showdown with the formidable Master Tonberry awaits. Overcoming this adversary and completing the associated dungeon will unlock the ability to craft the Tonberry Knife.

Crafting this weapon requires one Notched Tang, one Aqueous Membrane, two Orichalcum, and two Fools Gold. Notched Tang is a drop from the Tonberry King, while Aqueous Membrane is obtained by defeating the Thalaos. Orichalcum can be acquired through quests like Reign of Pain and Lost In The Woods. Fools Gold, on the other hand, can be obtained by vanquishing the Master Tonberry or discovering it in a chest in Father's Fell.

Power of the Tonberry Knife

While the Tonberry Knife may not have the highest raw damage output compared to other available swords, it shines in Will damage, boasting a remarkable 700 Will damage, surpassing even the Omega Weapon's 410 Will damage.

The Tonberry Knife's strength lies in its ability to rapidly deplete an enemy's Will, proving invaluable against formidable foes. Players prioritizing Will damage will find this weapon invaluable, especially in Final Fantasy Mode. Compared to the late-game Ultima Weapon, the Tonberry Knife matches its Will damage, making it a compelling choice for the entire playthrough.
