Since its unveiling at the 2023 Las Vegas Fan Fest, the introduction of Final Fantasy 14 to Xbox has stirred discussions among players. While some welcomed the expansion to another platform, the Xbox Series X/S version of Final Fantasy 14 comes with unique prerequisites not found on other platforms. For example, players on Xbox need an Xbox Game Pass subscription along with a separate game time purchase to access Final Fantasy 14. On Reddit, a user by the name of TGB_B20kEn shared their predicament of being banned from Xbox services for two months due to the use of the term 'free company' being misidentified as 'solicitation' in their group posts. Following an unsuccessful appeal by TGB_B20kEn, community members on Reddit offered support, with one user mentioning they would escalate the issue to an Xbox moderator for further action.

Since the ban affected TGB_B20kEn's Xbox services and not the Final Fantasy 14 game itself, observers like @envinyon on Twitter noted that rectifying the issue falls under Microsoft's jurisdiction.
