Fantastic Four director Matt Shakman has ignited fresh casting speculations by sharing a photo on his official social media handle, generating a wave of excitement among enthusiasts.
Ever since Marvel Studios unveiled the Fantastic Four reboot as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there have been numerous reports concerning the movie's cast. Amidst these reports, Pedro Pascal's name has surfaced as the potential actor to portray Reed Richards in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. While Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed these rumors, the director has now provided a significant update on the casting news.
Taking to Instagram, Shakman posted an image on his story, seemingly validating Pascal's potential portrayal of Reed Richards in Fantastic Four. The filmmaker shared a post from Pubity on his IG story, which read, "SAG-AFTRA confirms Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards in Fantastic Four." This revelation sent social media into a frenzy, with fans eagerly anticipating this potential casting update from the Fantastic Four director.
Shakman's post came shortly after the SAG-AFTRA website seemingly affirmed Pascal's involvement in the Fantastic Four reboot. In an edited actor’s bio, the organization inadvertently hinted at Pascal's association with the project, mentioning his expected commencement of filming for the MCU film in 2024. The bio stated, “Pascal recently wrapped production on Ridley Scott's highly anticipated GLADIATOR 2 and will soon begin production on Marvel Studios' FANTASTIC FOUR.”
Although the information regarding his role in Fantastic Four has been removed, the speculation had already gained momentum. This might be the reason Shakman also hinted at Pascal's potential casting. Despite ongoing speculation, with previous rumors suggesting Adam Driver as a potential Mr. Fantastic, Pascal's name has consistently been associated with the role. The earlier bio reportedly also confirmed the resolution of Pascal's scheduling conflicts with Gladiator 2.
If Pascal's casting in Fantastic Four is confirmed, it will be intriguing to witness his portrayal of Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic.
