CX404, a product of Enclave experimentation, was rescued by Wilzig from certain death due to her unique traits. Their journey was fraught with danger as they were pursued by The Ghoul, a bounty hunter hired by the Enclave. Despite Wilzig's tragic fate, CX404 found solace with The Ghoul and Lucy following their escape.

Acquiring CX404 in Fallout Shelter

To secure CX404 as a pet, players must undertake the quest 'Codename: DOG,' which becomes available after completing the 'Power Struggle' questline. This questline introduces various characters before unlocking the opportunity to rescue CX404.

Upon reaching the 'Codename: DOG' quest location, players can rescue CX404, who will then follow them back to the Vault and join as a loyal companion.

Unlocking CX404's Pet Perk

Equipping CX404 as a pet grants Vault Dwellers a significant gameplay advantage—a 38% increase in XP earned during tasks. This bonus enhances the efficiency and progression of players within the game.
