The online RPG has been gaining significant traction ever since the debut of Amazon's Fallout TV series on April 10. Following the premiere of the Prime Video show, the player base on Steam has more than tripled, showing no signs of slowing down.

Fallout 76 Continues to Gain Momentum

On April 19, the game reached a new peak with 51,853 players online simultaneously on Steam. This marks the fifth instance in the past six days that Fallout 76 has set a new record for concurrent players on Valve's platform. Record-Breaking History of Fallout 76 on Steam

The resurgence of the game is not limited to Steam; Fallout 76 has also seen a surge in player engagement on Xbox consoles since mid-April, reaching its highest player count since 2022. While the TV show's release is a significant factor in this popularity spike, other elements are also contributing to the ongoing success of Fallout. A recent week-long sale by Bethesda, offering an 80% discount on the RPG, matching its lowest price of $7.99, has further fueled the momentum. This discount was available across all platforms, including the PlayStation Store.

In addition to promoting the TV series, Amazon has been distributing Fallout 76 codes to Prime subscribers since mid-April. These codes, redeemable on Xbox or Microsoft Store, can be claimed until May 15. Although cross-platform multiplayer is not supported, all PC versions of the game are within the same ecosystem. Those who received the game through Prime Gaming can play with friends who purchased it on Steam.

The popularity wave is not exclusive to Fallout 76; other Fallout titles have also seen a resurgence post the Amazon series release. For instance, Fallout 4 recently climbed back to the top of European sales charts, eight and a half years after its original launch.
