Keen Games recently provided a sneak peek into what's on the horizon for Enshrouded in 2024. This peek includes a detailed list of over 40 fresh features, adjustments, and general enhancements that are slated to make their way to Enshrouded over the next ten months.
The development team from Germany launched the early access version of Enshrouded towards the end of January. As the second game from the creators of Portal Knights, this co-op survival ARPG can host up to 16 players. The plan is to transition from this initial Steam-only early access phase to a complete launch on PC as well as the latest PlayStation and Xbox consoles by late 2024.
Recently, the developers laid out a comprehensive preview of the upcoming features in Enshrouded. On March 13, Keen Games took to Twitter to unveil the RPG's early access content roadmap, showcasing 42 features and enhancements that are currently in the works. Of these, 36 are expected to be introduced in the upcoming updates, with a priority on items based on player feedback. Some key focuses include new building materials, enemies, bosses, animal farming, and a vanity system.
Moreover, the team is dedicated to expanding the already diverse range of locations in Enshrouded. Promised additions include an entirely new Mountains biome and Hollow Halls dungeons in the forthcoming updates. Additionally, unspecified location enhancements are on the agenda, alongside the inclusion of enemy patrols, potted plants, round doors, windows, and the ability to sit on furniture. Furthermore, players can look forward to naming their bases, setting custom map markers, encountering townsfolk NPCs, pets, and a dynamic weather system.
The near-future content roadmap for Enshrouded also guarantees enhancements in quest organization, stack splitting, and overall performance. Anticipate upcoming support for Steam Deck, musical instruments, named tombstones, and the ability to customize the glider shortcut. In terms of multiplayer features, expect detailed server gameplay settings, user rights management, pings, and portals to alternate servers.
Looking ahead, the studio teased six additional features slated for later in 2024, post the upcoming updates. These include instanced dungeons, more biomes, and the option to exchange and visit other player bases in Enshrouded. With two significant patches and eight hotfixes already released since early access, more updates are undoubtedly on the way.
