An exceptionally talented Elden Ring fan has recently completed a grand display featuring a 3D-printed replica of the Lands Between. This remarkable creation was crafted as a special gift for his son, marking their shared achievement of playing Elden Ring for 1,000 hours.

Since the launch of FromSoftware's latest soulslike game in early 2022, it has inspired a multitude of artistic endeavors. While many fans have focused on creating beautiful Elden Ring artwork, some have ventured into different forms of expression.

Unique 3D Rendition of the Lands Between by an Elden Ring Fan

Among those enthusiasts is Elminster2031, a Reddit user who meticulously crafted an extraordinary version of the Elden Ring map. This masterpiece was designed as a gift for his son, celebrating their combined dedication to the game with 1,000 hours of playtime. The diorama, predominantly 3D-printed, features the entire surface map of the Lands Between, showcasing its iconic landmarks. Elminster2031 intended for the creation to be displayed on a wall within a sizable wooden frame.

The frame is adorned with miniature replicas of the eight Great Runes, while a larger-than-life representation of the golden Erdtree stands prominently in the center of the Elden Ring diorama. Some fans humorously suggested setting the Erdtree ablaze for authenticity, to which Elminster2031 surprisingly revealed that he had already experimented with this idea. The tree was meticulously crafted from copper wire, treated with sodium hydroxide and zinc for galvanization, then transformed into brass through torching, resulting in the gleaming golden hue seen in the final product.

Reflecting on his accomplishment, Elminster2031 shared that the entire project consumed approximately 100 hours to complete. Although he didn't delve into the specifics of material costs, he offered to create a similar piece for $1,250 in response to an Elden Ring fan expressing interest. The final version of the frame excludes any underground zones from the game, not due to a lack of consideration but to maintain a compact size suitable for wall display. Elminster2031 explained that omitting locations like the Siofra River and Deeproot Depths was a deliberate choice to ensure the piece remained wall-mountable.

3D printing has become a popular method for bringing elements of the Lands Between to life. Another recent example of this trend is a highly detailed Elden Ring diorama depicting Iron Fist Alexander.
