The renowned tabletop role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons will no longer offer official Portuguese translations for its sourcebooks starting this year. With a history spanning nearly half a century, this iconic game, now under the helm of Wizards of the Coast, has garnered global popularity. Over the years, Dungeons and Dragons has evolved with new sourcebooks, modules, and rulesets. However, the company is now taking a step back in language support.
Being a game enjoyed worldwide, Dungeons and Dragons has been translated into numerous languages to cater to diverse player bases. Currently, Wizards of the Coast provides official support in seven languages including English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, and Portuguese. Previously, international translations were handled by Gale Force Nine before the shift to in-house global releases in 2022. Unfortunately, Portuguese translations are now on the chopping block.
According to a statement reported by ComicBook, Dungeons and Dragons will no longer maintain its Portuguese version, reducing the supported languages to six. The cessation is expected to take effect
