Don't Nod Entertainment Reveals Plans for Seven New Games

Highlights

  • Don't Nod Entertainment is currently developing seven new games.
  • Only two of these games, Koira and Lost Records: Bloom and Rage, have been officially revealed.
  • The studio is restructuring to emphasize double-A development in RPGs, action adventures, and narrative-driven games.

Don't Nod Entertainment, the creators of Life is Strange, are thrilled to announce that they have seven exciting games in the pipeline. This news comes alongside the studio's recent reorganization efforts aimed at exploring a wide array of gaming genres.

Established in 2008 and headquartered in Paris, Don't Nod is renowned for its contributions to the beloved Life is Strange series. Recent successful projects from the studio include the critically acclaimed puzzle platformer Jusant and the action RPG Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, released in October 2023 and February 2024, respectively.

Looking ahead, the studio has a busy schedule with a total of seven titles currently in development. While two games are being developed externally, the majority are being created in-house. Notably, one of the internal projects is the narrative-driven adventure Lost Records: Bloom and Rage, introduced in December 2023 as the inaugural installment in a connected anthology.

Exciting Upcoming Titles from Don't Nod Entertainment

Among the upcoming games, only Koira has been officially unveiled. Developed by Studio Tolima in Brussels, Belgium, this hand-drawn puzzle game is slated for a Steam release in 2025. The second revealed project is an action RPG being crafted by Tiny Bull Studios in Turin, Italy. While confirmed to be a collaboration with Don't Nod, this game is awaiting a full reveal after its announcement in September 2022.

Don't Nod's recent restructuring is designed to optimize its strengths in three key genres: RPGs, action-adventures, and narrative-rich experiences. The Paris office will spearhead action-adventure titles, while the Montreal division will continue its legacy of crafting immersive narratives like those found in Life is Strange and Lost Records: Bloom and Rage. Don't Nod's Chief Marketing Officer, Sophie Filip, shared with IGN that the company's current focus is on games that are of double-A quality or higher, responding to industry challenges such as budget constraints and industry layoffs since early 2023.

Considering Don't Nod's history, fans can expect the upcoming games to be available across various platforms, including PC, Sony, and Microsoft consoles. The studio has shifted its attention to current-generation consoles, leaving behind support for older platforms following the release of the narrative adventure game Twin Mirror in December 2020.
