Many Star Wars characters remain confined to the now non-canon Legends continuity, and many fans have been growing impatient. One, in particular, decided to wait no longer and has now created a rather striking look at what one of these lost souls might look like in the modern iteration of the franchise.

The Star Wars franchise was already a bit of a juggernaut back when pretty much everything was considered an official part of the continuity. But once the great Star Wars canon reset happened, it marked the series' move from huge mainstream nerd thing to gargantuan inescapable nerd thing. Unfortunately, that move required several characters and stories to be rendered no longer canon. But while many have eventually found their way back to the official side of things, like Grand Admiral Thrawn, others continue to wallow in relative obscurity, much to fans' dismay.

So, one such loyalist on the Star Wars subreddit decided to take matters into their own hands. User DBR-customs specializes in customizing action figures to create new or improved characters, and they recently posted their latest work showcasing how they imagine fan-favorite Star Wars Legends character Dash Rendar would look in live-action. Specifically, they wanted to depict how the suave Shadows of the Empire smuggler protagonist would look if he were to show up in The Mandalorian.

The look is striking. Dash vaguely resembles a particularly grizzled Aaron Ashmore of Locke and Key fame. So, if Lucasfilm was wondering who best to bring the character to life if they made him canon again, there's an idea. That one's free. His shoulder pad-forward outfit resembles the one seen in most of his more famous appearances, which makes sense considering how a random bearded white guy might need a bit more visual spice to stand out as a character. Fans who loved the Shadows of the Empire game, book, and comics will immediately know who he is just at first glance.

DBR-customs also included some of their own original characters to flesh out Dash's crew because, of course, Dash would have a crew. Despite being one of the best Star Wars video game protagonists, he could always use some backup. In this case, that backup includes a Twi'lek, a Trandoshan, and a Duros, all of whom have been the last thing several people have seen in a dark alley. He's also shown with another human who looks suspiciously similar to him. Is he perhaps a long-lost brother? A mysterious clone? Just another white guy? The questions are delicious.

It would be cool to see Dash show up in the next season of The Mandalorian or the movie if rumors regarding The Mandalorian season 4 becoming a movie can be trusted. Dash may have started as a bit of a stand-in for Han Solo, but there's no denying he earned his fans. Hey, if that green space rabbit Jaxxon can return to the fold, so can this guy.

The Star Wars saga is available on Disney Plus.
