Roguelike exploration, crafting, building a temple, sacrificing a follower. All in a day's work for a busy spiritual despot in Cult of the Lamb, which blends horror with adorable forest animals. Part of the game is spent tending to the flock, building their beds, cooking their meals, and preaching obedience through a balance of gifts and threats.
When it comes to the Crusade part of the game, players can use different builds of weapons, Artifacts, and Curses depending on what kind of leader they want to be. Being a cult leader and a supernatural being, the Lamb has magical powers known as Curses that can also be used to damage their enemies, and there's a choice of weapons at the hero's disposal.
Update January 25th, 2024, by Kristy Ambrose: The recent update, Sins of the Flesh, added the Blunderbuss to the Lamb's arsenal. The selections were lacking somewhat in the ranged department and the Blunderbuss, which is essentially akin to a shotgun, not only has range, but powerful smashing and stopping power to combat the more powerful enemies the Lamb will meet in the updated version of the game. New Curses and Artifacts are also available to augment and improve the power of this new weapon along with all the older ones options that were available to the player.
6 Blunderbuss
Impressive Power with Slow Recharge
The Blunderbuss excels in power, knocking back and stunning enemies, ideal for combating the enhanced armor in the updated dungeons. However, its slow recharge rate, with only three bullets, demands precision and strategic use to avoid being overwhelmed.
To compensate for its slow pace, strategic use of Tarot Cards and crowd-control Curses can fill the gaps during bullet recharge, making it more effective towards the end of a run.
5 Daggers
Swift with Limited Range
Daggers offer swiftness, making them ideal for quick movements between enemies, but their minimal range warrants mastery of the Dodge ability for effective use.
As players venture into Darkwood, acquiring daggers and Tarot Cards enhances their combat capabilities, providing opportunities to augment existing abilities.
4 Axes
Slower Yet Potent, Enhanced by Abilities
Offering slower yet impactful attacks, axes boast superior damage and range, further empowered by abilities such as Bane and Vampiric, providing healing capabilities while dealing substantial damage.
As players progress into Anura, the acquisition of these abilities amplifies the effectiveness of the axe, aligning with the strategic elements of leading a cult.
3 Gauntlets
Agile and Lethal through Combos
Initially unimpressive, gauntlets gain potency when coupled with specific hit combinations and abilities such as Bane and Necromantic, offering players opportunities for critical hits and summoning allies in combat.
As players confront challenges in Darkwood and Anura, mastering these combinations elevates the lethality of gauntlets, providing a dynamic combat experience.
2 Hammers
Balanced for Speed and Impact
Hammers deliver unparalleled damage but at a slower pace, requiring a strategic approach to leverage their wide range and AoE capabilities, making them effective in handling multiple foes.
As players progress and encounter advanced challenges, the strategic balance between speed and impact becomes crucial, solidifying hammers as a formidable choice for combat.
1 Swords
Versatile and Reliable
From the trusty Crusader's Blade to specialized options like the Bane and Vampiric Swords, swords offer versatility and effectiveness throughout the game, complementing various Curses and Tarot Cards.
As the go-to choice for both novice and seasoned players, swords stand out with their balanced attributes, making them an ideal starting point while honing other abilities.
